General Educational Development (GED) Test


The Tennessee Technology Center at Jackson  is a GED Testing Center and administers the GED Test monthly (January through December). The Test is given over a two day period. On the first day, examinees take 2 tests - Math and Language Arts Writing and on the second day, examinees take 3 tests - Science, Social Studies, and Language Arts Reading.

All candidates are required to take the GED Pretest. *For information concerning the GED pretest in Madison County call 422-6175, for Henderson County call 968-3661, and for Haywood County call 722-9734.

You must register for the GED Test prior to the testing date. Registration dates are announced monthly. Registration applications are taken Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (Please call first) Registration will continue until all spaces are filled. There are limited spaces available and spaces will be filled on a first come first serve basis. No one will be allowed to register unless he/she has all the necessary documentation and the testing fee of $55; money orders and debit/credit cards are accepted (no checks please).

**State ID may be used in lieu of Driver License. If you do not have a SS card, we will accept another form of ID as long as it contains your name and social security number on it (for example, voter registration or health insurance card).

If ALL necessary documentation is not presented, you will not be allowed to register. Make sure you have all necessary documentation and a $55.00 testing fee when you come to register. Retests are $11.00 per test. Please allow a minimum of 30 minutes to complete the registration process.
