Admissions

Persons 18 years or older with an employment objective may apply for admission.

Applicants may apply for all programs, except health occupation classes, online or in person. 

Applicants must show proof of mmr immunization. 

Applicants will be notified by mail prior to the first available class opening.  Students begin programs at the beginning of each quarter for classes that have immediate openings.  If there are no openings, applicant’s names will be placed on a waiting list for their desired program.

The Technology Center offers two different health occupation programs.  Potential applicants who are less than 18 years of age should consult with the allied health program director, Barbara Avent, prior to making application. The Practical Nursing program begins on the Jackson campus in the Spring and begins in Humboldt in the Fall. The Lexington campus begins only in the Spring.  To be eligible for the Fall class, testing must be completed by the middle of June. To qualify for the Spring class, testing must be completed by the middle of December. The Surgical Technology class  begins in the Fall.  Applicants interested in applying for any of our health occupation programs will be required to take the Compass test.  See below or click here for more information on the Compass Testing dates.

Fees

All full-time students enrolling will pay a maintenance fee and a technology fee per quarter.  Currently these fees are:

  • Maintenance:     $925 per trimester
  • Technology:        $67 per trimester

Students enrolling or completing between trimesters will pay a pro-rated fee for that trimester based upon the fee schedule. Fees must be paid during registration before a students will be officially admitted to class. Therefore, the fee must be paid at the beginning of each trimester. Maintenance fees may not be waived.
